Key Responsibilities
24/7 Operational Governance: Lead and manage daily operations at a nonstop bulk cryogenic transportation and logistics hub, making sure scheduling is smooth and assets are used to their fullest.
Personnel Management & Staffing: Oversee, train, and evaluate a specialized team of commercial bulk drivers, fleet mechanics, and terminal admin staff.
Driver Recruitment & Retention: Head up regional hiring strategies to keep staffing ideal, run driver onboarding programs, and promote strong employee engagement for great customer service.
Fleet Maintenance & Expense Control: Supervise preventative maintenance for rolling stock, review repair schedules, and work with third-party vendors to maximize vehicle uptime and keep operating costs down.
Safety Coaching & Culture: Push for proactive safety behaviors, run mandatory monthly safety trainings, and lead in-depth accident and injury investigations to remove operational risks.
Regulatory Compliance Audits: Set up and ensure strict electronic record-keeping systems to verify compliance across Driver Qualification files, equipment logs, hours of service rules, and shipping manifests.
Experience & Qualifications
At least 3 years of professional distribution, transport, or fleet logistics management experience.
4 to 6 years of formal operations management experience supervising multi-tier field and administrative staff (or 5+ years preferred with a bachelor’s degree).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills to check fuel yields, asset telemetry, and financial reports.
Valid US Driver’s License required; must be comfortable working on-call to support emergency terminal demands.
Industry Match (Preferred): Hands-on experience with bulk chemical transportation, fleet maintenance routing, or working in the industrial/specialty gas industry.
A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred; a high school diploma/equivalent is the minimum requirement.
Technical Skills Required
Regulatory Frameworks: Solid operational knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) hours of service, OSHA facility guidelines, and FDA chemical documentation.
Digital Infrastructure: Comfortable using Google Workspace apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail), and enterprise fleet management dashboards and electronic logging device (ELD) tracking networks.
