Key Responsibilities
Real-Time Production Support: Apply core drafting principles and design concepts to troubleshoot product, component, and process issues instantly as they arise within the live assembly and fabrication flow.
3D Solid Model Definition: Execute precise modification of component models based on raw engineering notes, translating high-level conceptual blueprints and feedback into exact physical geometries and master assembly structures.
Electrical Systems Integration: Review materials, process specifications, and validation documents for electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components across commercial airplane configurations to control design integrity and certification pathways.
Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate manufacturing non-conformances, carry out laboratory failure analyses on broken or compromised electrical components, and establish systemic corrective or preventative actions.
Cross-Functional Design Alignment: Collaborate with Design, Stress, Quality, Manufacturing, and external suppliers to streamline deployment requirements for tools, parts, and specialized processes over the full lifecycle of the airplane.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 9+ years of hands-on professional experience working within aerospace design environments, specializing deeply in complex detail and assembly part structures.
- Solid grasp of product hierarchy mechanics, including details, piece-parts, sub-assemblies, and final installations.
- Direct practical experience with the machining properties, tolerances, and design constraints of metallic parts.
- High adaptability with a proven drive to learn in a fast-paced, shift-flexible (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift), alternate work-week environment.
- An Associate Degree in a technical drafting/design field or an equivalent deep combination of industry experience and vocational certifications.
Technical Skills Required
Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Advanced operational proficiency in CATIA or an equivalent enterprise-grade 3D solid modeling suite.
Visualization Tools: Direct experience working with Integrated Visualization Tools (IVT) to review master models and spatial layouts.
Regulatory Compliance: Deep familiarity with aerospace hardware standards, material control documents, and quality assurance workflows.
