This means you’ll have the chance to collaborate on different projects and you need to be comfortable in a dynamic, multi-organizational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance: Prepare and keep accurate financial records. Handle accounts payable and receivable, manage cash flow, monitor spending, and create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Financial Reconciliation & Budgeting: Reconcile bank statements, help with budget prep, track payroll, monitor project expenses, and make sure everything fits internal controls and accounting standards.
Grant & Audit Management: Support grant management, donor reporting, project-based financial tracking, asset register maintenance, and get documents ready for audits and regulatory reporting.
Cross-Organizational Support: Provide financial reports for sister organizations. Help management set up financial systems, improve controls, and develop operational efficiencies across the group.
Office Administration: Coordinate daily office activities, keep organizational records, manage databases and filing systems, and oversee procurement and vendor processes.
Logistics & Coordination: Help project teams with logistics, assist with event administration, schedule meetings, manage calendars, and work with staff, volunteers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications
You need proven experience balancing financial accounting and corporate office administration.
You should be able to work alone, stay accurate, and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-moving, multi-organizational environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, so you can work well with internal staff, volunteers, donors, and external regulatory bodies.
A high standard of ethics, discretion, and financial stewardship is required, matching our values as an impact-driven NGO.
Academic Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting credentials (ICAN/ACCA) are a plus.
Technical Skills Required
Accounting Software Proficiency: Real experience working with digital cloud accounting tools and ERP platforms like QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for logging transactions and generating ledgers.
Spreadsheet & Data Analytics: Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for financial modeling, tracking costs, and projecting budgets.
Administrative Infrastructure: Comfortable with modern digital productivity suites (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365), calendar tools, and remote communication setups to fit the hybrid workplace.
