Job Summary and Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for running technology projects from start to finish, keeping everything on track with scope, budget, and timeline. 

Your main focus is maintaining legacy mainframe platforms and supporting their migration to open systems.

Project Leadership and Client Management

Day-to-Day Leadership: Lead daily project activities and handle overall management.

Primary POC: Serve as the main point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.

Metrics Management: Monitor project schedule, costs, risks, and performance metrics.

Reporting: Prepare and present weekly status reports, PMR updates, scorecards, and OMR inputs.

Technical Operations and Support

Mainframe & Migration: Lead the technical team maintaining legacy mainframe platforms and supporting migration to open systems.

Requirement Translation: Understand client needs and translate them into Epics, Features, and User Stories.

System Sustainment: Provide project support through Jira, ServiceNow (SNOW), VA PARS, and VASI.

Disaster Recovery: Support full Disaster Recovery (DR) cycles and coordinate with Infrastructure Operations on vulnerabilities and patches.

Qualifications and Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who have a solid understanding of government projects and technical frameworks.

Experience: Strong project management experience, especially working with government agencies or VA-wide financial systems.

Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of legacy mainframe systems and open systems migration.

Tools Proficiency: Solid skills with management tools like Jira, ServiceNow (SNOW), and Microsoft Office.

Soft Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions: Ability to work standard business hours (Monday to Friday), plus a reliable internet connection for remote days.
