🔑 Key Responsibilities
As the Maintenance Shift Lead, you’ll coordinate daily activities and tackle moderately complex engineering issues:
Team Management and Daily Operations
Shift Coordination: Manage your maintenance team’s daily activities, create work schedules, assign tasks, and make sure your staff gets cross-trained.
Mentorship & Deadlines: Keep track of department deadlines and provide coaching and mentoring on the floor as needed.
Contractor Management: Coordinate maintenance projects with outside contractors, technicians, and tenant finish crews.
System Oversight and Preventative Maintenance
Building Systems Infrastructure: Oversee all core building systems—Fire/Life Safety, Plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and Electrical networks.
Safety Manuals: Implement and update building-specific maintenance and safety manuals so you meet regulatory standards.
Emergency Response: Stay ready to handle emergencies, tenant concerns, and client updates, making sure communication is always strong.
🎯 What They Are Looking For (Requirements)
This role needs a solid mix of technical know-how and operational leadership. The company has set the following criteria:
Education & Licensures
Academic Criteria: You need to have a NITEC (National ITE Certificate) or a higher degree.
Technical Training: You should have completed an apprenticeship in a technical field or have a good mix of experience and education.
Preferred Licenses: Having a Journeyman/Electrician or HVAC license is a plus.
Required Skills and Experience
Staffing & Development: You should have experience handling team selection, performance monitoring, training, and staff retention.
Problem Solving: You need strong judgment and technical experience so you can troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Software & Math Skills: You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have command of math calculations like percentages and fractions.
Shift Flexibility: You must be willing to work shifts on weekends and holidays.
