Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Domestic Operations Coordinator, you’ll be in charge of planning and scheduling daily shipping operations to make sure products get delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Domestic Operations: Oversee domestic operations using LTL, FTL, and rail services.
Shipment Management: Handle customer shipments from the initial quote to the final delivery.
Carrier Negotiation: Find reliable carriers and negotiate for the best rates and service.
Customer Service: Communicate directly with clients and vendors to provide top service.
Business Development: Look for new business opportunities, generate leads, and work with management to hit sales goals.
Documentation: Prepare and verify bills of lading, and manage the onboarding documentation for new customers.
Lead Generation: Use market research and prospecting to create new, qualified leads.
Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with key accounts and partners to drive repeat business.
Qualifications and Requirements
We’re looking for candidates with solid experience in logistics and sales.
Experience: 4-5 years of sales experience; freight forwarding experience is a plus.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of import/export concepts, traffic management, and ocean freight forwarding.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but candidates with relevant experience can apply even without a degree.
Communication: Strong spoken and written English skills (being bilingual is a plus).
Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a proven customer service record.
Personal Traits: Ability to work independently and perform well in a team setting.
Organizational Skills: Strong at follow-up and multitasking.
