There's a solid opening in the textile value chain and corporate business development field. TM NPD BD in Mumbai (Maharashtra) needs a dynamic, experienced Deputy Manager to strengthen their New Product Development (NPD) and Business Development division. 


The main goal here is to introduce new products to the market, manage customer trials, and ensure end-to-end commercial scale-up.

๐Ÿ”‘ Key Responsibilities


As Deputy Manager, you'll report to TL NPD BD (Team Lead). Your daily responsibilities include:


Key Account Management and Product Seeding


Structured Seeding: Properly and systematically introduce and seed new products (NPD) to the market and target accounts.


Value Proposition: Understand the commercial benefits of new products and develop a compelling value proposition for customers, so they see the advantage over generic options.



Trial, Validation, and Execution


On-Site Trials: Personally manage product trials and validation cycles at customer sites, coordinating with various stakeholders present there.


End-to-End Delivery: Execute the full process—generate leads, conduct trials, get qualification approvals, secure orders, and scale up at a larger level.


Cross-Team Coordination: Work with CTS, VCD, Sales, and BD teams to resolve any deviation in product performance or process.

You need strong technical understanding and solid commercial acumen to thrive in this role. The company’s set requirements are:



Education & Experience


Educational Degree: Must have a B.Tech (Textile Engineering / Production Engineering) from a good university. An MBA is a bonus (preferred option).


Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the textile industry or product development.



Mandatory Technical & Personal Skills


Core Competencies: The role demands a balance—40% Technical Competency, 40% Strategic Commercial Thinking (Value Selling), and 20% Relationship Capital.


Technical Product Understanding: Ability to grasp process requirements in the downstream value chain and convert product features into customer benefits.


Sales Pipeline Management: Run commercialization of new products through stage-gate governance and manage funnel metrics.


Personal Traits: Show resilience in tough situations, eagerness to learn (learning agility), and perform well even when things are ambiguous.


Communication: Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, and have executive presence.
