Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Commercial Banking Officer, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining commercial loan accounts (secured and unsecured).
Your goal is to maximize profitability for the bank with minimum risk and build new business relationships.
Portfolio Management and Risk Assessment
Loan Administration: Respond to customer and prospect needs for loans or lines of credit and prepare terms according to risk underwriting.
Credit Decisions: Make loan decisions within your lending limits or present strong recommendations to senior lending officers.
Portfolio Oversight: Manage your commercial portfolio according to the bank’s lending policy, including handling past dues, renewals, collateral exceptions, and overdrafts.
Financial Analysis: Gather and analyze information on customers and prospects to understand their financial position and create suitable credit structures.
Business Development and Community Engagement
New Business Generation: Approach potential customers (prospects) through calls and meetings, cross-sell other bank products, and build a complete banking relationship.

Qualifications and Requirements
We’re searching for banking professionals who understand the basics of the financial industry and are familiar with commercial lending regulations.
Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields preferred.
Experience Level: 1 to 3 years experience in the financial industry OR 2 to 5 years solid experience in commercial banking.
Regulatory Knowledge: Complete understanding of current commercial lending regulations, bank policies, procedures, and general economic trends.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and sales skills so you can connect new clients with the bank.
