Job Summary
As the Events Coordinator, you’re responsible for planning, organizing, and running city-sponsored events. This role has you working with different city departments and local organizations to make sure every event runs smoothly.
Your job doesn’t stop at planning, you’ll also handle on-site supervision, budget monitoring, and quality control. Since this is a high-impact role, you need to stay flexible; depending on the event schedule, you’ll sometimes work nights, holidays, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Help plan and carry out city-sponsored events, coordinating work schedules.
Ensure policies and procedures are strictly followed during events.
Monitor budgets and suggest ways to improve operations.
Stay in touch with the Events Manager, community leaders, and non-profit groups.
Hold meetings with Parks & Recreation and other departments from the planning stage through the end of the event.
Act as the main point of contact during events and solve any urgent issues.
Prepare “After Action Reports” following each event to help improve future activities.
Take corrective action to guarantee strong customer service and event quality.
Experience & Qualifications
Education: You need at least an Associate’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
Experience: At least 2 years in Banquet and Special Events Management or community activities.
License: You must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Flexibility: You should be fully prepared to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Education Substitute: If you don’t have a degree, we’ll also consider a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience.
