Job Summary


As a Sr. Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end planning, design, and construction execution for an expanding portfolio of local and national private, industrial, and municipal water clients. 


Your core job will involve leading multi-disciplinary teams of technical engineers, managing complex project deliverables to strict scope, schedule, and budget metrics, and serving as a trusted primary representative for high-profile clients across sectors like data centers, manufacturing, power, and mining.


This role is perfect for a self-motivated engineering leader who enjoys solving complex process mechanical challenges and shaping organizational strategy. 


Based out of Columbus, OH, this position offers excellent hybrid work flexibility, allowing you to seamlessly split your week between home and Jacobs offices while tapping into an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities


Project Delivery: Lead complex industrial and municipal water practice lifecycle operations, from initial master planning and condition assessments through to final construction.


Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and coach technical engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative culture of engineering excellence and professional growth.


Client Representation: Serve as a key corporate representative for private and industrial water clients, defining project parameters and delivering innovative engineering solutions.


Fiscal Accountability: Maintain complete ownership over project finances, ensuring all deliverables strictly align with established scope, schedule, and budget metrics.


Strategic Collaboration: Partner with regional leadership to help shape organizational strategy, optimize resource allocation, and deploy Jacobs’ proprietary management tools.



Experience & Qualifications


Professional Licensing: Must hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license with a strong dedication to maintaining structural engineering compliance.


Consulting Background: A minimum of 8 years of specialized consulting experience working directly with industrial water and wastewater clients.


Technical Engineering Depth: Demonstrated understanding of process mechanical designs, advanced water/wastewater unit processes, technologies, and master planning.


Project Management Track Record: Proven history of successfully delivering large-scale municipal or industrial planning and infrastructure design initiatives.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical, environmental, mechanical engineering, or a closely related professional field.

Salary & Location


Salary: $126,500.00 to $195,000.00 base salary paired with performance discretionary bonuses, a 401(k) plan, discounted stock purchasing options, and unlimited U.S. PPTO.
