Key Responsibilities


Safe Patient Mobilization: Move patients safely and efficiently between inpatient units, emergency departments, operating rooms, and main diagnostic departments like Radiology and Laboratory.


Clinical Transfer Assistance: Work directly with nursing and clinical staff to use proper techniques for lifting, rolling, and transferring patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.


Patient Experience & Advocacy: Welcome patients, families, and guests with genuine empathy and warmth. Communicate clearly and keep a calm, reassuring presence to help ease anxiety during transport.


Specimen & Equipment Logistics: Collect, track, and deliver urgent lab specimens, medical paperwork, diagnostic orders, and important bedside equipment quickly to the right hospital departments.


Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and check wheelchairs and stretchers after each use to maintain strict infection control and mechanical safety.



Experience & Qualifications


A strong people-first focus, with a real passion for making the patient experience better—showing empathy and giving care with compassion and dignity.


Excellent at communicating and working with a wide range of people, including clinical staff and nervous patients.


Physically fit, able to stand or walk through long shifts, and handle lifting or moving heavy loads safely.


Reliable, highly aware of surroundings, and able to follow strict safety rules in a fast-paced hospital environment.


High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.


Prerequisites: Must clear standard healthcare onboarding including background checks, health screenings, and orientation.



Technical Skills Required


Basic Life Support (BLS): You need an active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross, or you should be able to get one during onboarding.


Medical Safety Frameworks: You need to understand basic body mechanics, safe patient lifting, and how to prevent falls.


Infection Control Protocols: Know clinical sanitization rules, how to handle PPE, and the right order for moving from clean to dirty areas.
