Job Summary


As a Commissioning Engineer, you’re fully responsible for managing commissioning system boundaries, procedures, and standard deliverables from start to finish. 


You’ll work under the guidance of the lead commissioning engineer, handling onshore and offshore pre-commissioning activities, managing Permit to Work (PTW) systems daily, and building solid relationships with Class Society, clients, and suppliers.


This role suits a self-motivated, highly analytical professional who thrives in the fast-paced world of offshore oil & gas and mega-scale engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities


Planning & Preparation: Prepare commissioning system boundaries, detailed procedures, and onshore/offshore test plans as per client requirements.


Execution & Management: Lead technical teams and safely coordinate pre-commissioning activities, interfacing with construction and pre-ops teams.


PTW & Site Control: Manage Permit to Work (PTW) systems, assigned technicians, vendor support, and CLASS witness activities with discipline, on a daily basis.


Testing & Certification: Execute approved procedures, sign off on test reports, and prepare complete system dossiers for handover.


Risk Assessment: Conduct formal risk assessments for the commissioning scope, lead toolbox meetings, and ensure site preservation procedures.


Offshore Startup Support: Execute startup procedures during offshore deployment, check facility stabilization, and carry out final performance testing.



Experience & Qualifications


Industry Consulting Experience: Solid engineering background in the Floating Offshore Oil & Gas market, FPSO topsides, marine mechanical, or instrumentation systems.


Technical Certifications: ATEX certification or equivalent safety credentials relevant to the discipline, for handling hazmat environments.


Regulatory & Class Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Class Society codes, Statutory/SCE validation standards, and process safety frameworks.


Vendor & FSR Management: Experience managing Field Service Representatives (FSR), third-party technical services, and subcontractors according to project schedules.


Analytical Software Proficiency: Expertise troubleshooting Process Control Systems, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and leading DCS equipment software systems.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work on complex design, engineering queries, and lessons learned documents with multicultural teams and client personnel.
