Key Responsibilities
Architect, engineer, and maintain low-latency C++ execution algorithms, Order Management Systems (OMS), strategy containers, direct market access (DMA) connectivity, and messaging protocols.
Partner directly with central quantitative trading teams to optimize execution performance and market impact across equities and futures.
Minimize end-to-end system latency using advanced Linux kernel tuning, custom networking sockets, memory management, and cache-optimization techniques.
Engineer high-throughput interfaces and tools for historical market data processing, backtesting, and trading simulations to accelerate quantitative research workflows.
Build automated testing suites, micro-benchmarking frameworks, and internal telemetry tools to validate performance under high-volatility market conditions.
Leverage modern AI/LLM-assisted development tools to enhance code quality, refactoring, and overall engineering velocity.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 5 years directly in a front-office financial services environment (Hedge Fund, Prop Trading Firm, or Investment Bank).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
Proven track record building real-time, low-latency execution systems, order routers, or market data feeds for equities, futures, or options.
Deep understanding of financial market mechanics, exchange protocols (FIX, ITCH/OUCH), order book dynamics, and execution algorithms.
Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to gather requirements and deliver mission-critical tools directly to quantitative traders under fast-paced market conditions.
Technical Skills Required
Core Programming: Mastery of C++17 and C++20, modern object-oriented design, template metaprogramming, and lock-free data structures.
Systems & Concurrency: Deep understanding of Linux OS internals, multithreading, async architecture, low-latency network programming (TCP/UDP, kernel bypass), and memory-mapped IO.
Data & Scripting: Proficiency in Python for quantitative analysis, execution algorithm performance attribution, and data processing.
AI & Engineering Tooling: Active usage of modern LLM-based coding tools to accelerate software engineering lifecycle, plus continuous benchmarking tools.
