Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front or rear-end load lift attachments safely and efficiently in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and LRS regulations.
Provide reliable pickup service for heavy waste or recyclable material containers, which may weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds.
Perform mandatory pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings via the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
Navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, executing highly skilled backing and turning maneuvers.
Transport collected materials to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities upon reaching legal vehicle load capacity.
Identify and report service interruptions, unsafe road conditions, blocked containers, and equipment requiring maintenance or repair to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
Experience & Qualifications
Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at minimum.
Must hold a valid DOT medical card or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Clean driving record: No DUIs or OVIs within the last 5 years (or maximum 2 within 10 years); no license suspensions within the last 2 years; maximum of 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings and testing requirements.
Strong English reading and speaking proficiency to communicate effectively, comprehend road signs, and follow safety trainings.
Technical Skills Required
Advanced commercial truck operation and high-skill backing maneuver capabilities.
Thorough understanding of DOT compliance rules, cargo securing, and safety protocols.
Experience executing standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) procedures.
Ability to read and interpret service routing lists, logistics plans, and digital dispatch systems.
